My Life with 40 Parents
At the tender age of four, Christopher and his younger brother and were abandoned by our mother and placed into Child Protective Custody. By his nineteenth birthday, he had been shuffled through 40 foster homes, experienced two failed adoptions, and spent two years collectively in Juvenile Detention Centers.
In this book, Christopher openly, honestly, and vulnerably shares his memories, thoughts, feelings, and deepest secrets to provide you (the reader) with an intimate understanding and glimpse of what it feels like to be a child lost and shuffled around in the foster care system.
If you have the desire to understand foster care from the perspective of the child, then this book is for you. For any parents, counselors, CASA, or mentors who support youth in foster care and would like to have a better understanding of why they think or behave the way they do, and/or learn how to become a better advocate for them, then this book is also for you!
